Taiwan earthquake relief fund
Dear members of OCESTA:
I believe many of you have already made contributions through various channels to Taiwan
earthquake relief funds. If you wish to make your first or more contributions, please send
your checks to
CCBA-Taiwan Relief Fund
803 H Street, N.W.
Washington, DC 20001
Please make your check payable to "CCBA-Taiwan Relief Fund". Your contribution
will be income tax deductible, and a receipt will be sent to you within two days. When you
send your check, you may want to write your Chinese name on it, so that CCBA (Chinese
Community Benevolent Alliance) can correctly acknowledge your contribution in the
newspapers. You may designate your contribution to (1) orphan caring center, (2) Nantou
County, or (3) various religious groups (e.g., Buddhism, Catholic, etc.), otherwise it
will go to Rep. of China Red Cross. You may also want to indicate that you are a member
OCESTA, a supporting member of this fund.
The damages caused by the recent earthquakes in Taiwan were enormous and devastating, and
it will take considerable efforts and time to rebuild. Your help is needed, and I thank
you in advance for your contribution. I also want to thank Prof. An Yin who urged me to
send you this request.
With my best wishes,
I-Ming Chou, President of OCESTA
