GIS Analyst The City of Huntington Beach Huntington Beach California Application Deadline: Until Filled (First review 1/6/06) G.I.S. Analyst ($4,834 - $5,988 mo) The City is seeking an individual with substantial GIS experience to perform a wide variety of professional duties in the development, operation, performance, and maintenance of the City’s Geographic Information System. The ideal candidate will be a team oriented person with excellent customer service skills, communication skills, and possess strong knowledge and/or experience using ArcIMS, ArcXML, Visual Studio.net, C-Sharp, Java-Script, HTML, ArcGIS v. 9.1, and Map Objects. Knowledge of ArcSDE is a plus. Under the direction of the GIS Administrator, essential duties of this position are to design, develop, program, test, de-bug, and deploy Internet, Intranet, Mobile, Desktop, and Hand-Held GIS Applications. Other essential duties include the design and construction of geodatabases, migration to geodatabases, cartographic design, analyzing spatial and tabular data, spatial and tabular data products creation and construction, preparing GIS System documentation, and performing other duties as required. Knowledge of: Topology, MS SQL Server, Geodesy, Digital OrthoPhotography, and computer networks. Ability to: Trouble shoot hardware and software problems, prepare clear technical reports, solve technical problems, give presentations, and maintain an effective working relationship with those contacted in the course of work. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree form an accredited college or university with major course work in geography, GIS, cartography, computer science, or closely related field, and 1½ years working with GIS or closely related field. Experience using VB.net, ArcIMS, HTML, C-Sharp, Java Script, and Map Objects in municipal applications is highly desireable.
